Performance Report

time-weighted return · portfolio-level, not per-trade
TWR · 1 Month — —
—
Time-weighted return, not ROI — geometrically links each account's own period, so a fresh restart after a blown challenge never distorts the number. Same principle GIPS (CFA Institute) and the SEC Marketing Rule require for real performance reporting.

What's your reasoning?

Jot down the entry factors while they're fresh — session, setup, what the zone looked like. This gets saved into the Notes of whichever trade you open next.

Send trades from MT5 to this dashboard

Download EA TradeJournalEA.ex5
Install Path C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\XXXXXXXX\MQL5\Experts\

Your Terminal ID will differ - find your exact folder via File → Open Data Folder in MT5, then go into MQL5\Experts\.

View the full step-by-step guide →
  1. Copy the Server URL and API Token below.
  2. Install TradeJournalEA.ex5 into your MQL5\Experts folder (the default path is copyable above).
  3. Allow WebRequest to the server: Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → check "Allow WebRequest for listed URL" → add https://www.tape-tradingjournal.com.
  4. Attach the EA to a chart: check "Allow Algo Trading" → go to Inputs → enter the Server URL and your TAPE account's API token → OK.

Your personal API token - paste it into the EA's ApiToken input in MT5, alongside the server address below.

Server URL —
API Token —

In MT5: Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → check "Allow WebRequest for listed URL" and add the server URL above. Then attach TradeJournalEA to a chart and paste both values into its inputs.

Connect Exchange

Auto-import your USDT-margined futures trades from Binance, OKX, or Bybit - a read-only key, no withdrawal permission needed.

API Key
API Secret
API Passphrase
Label (optional)

How do I get a Binance API key? →
  1. Log into Binance → Profile icon → Account → API Management.
  2. Create API -> System generated -> give it a name (e.g. "TAPE").
  3. Under "Restrict access to trusted IPs only", enter this server's IP address (not a URL/domain) - 138.68.87.85 - and click Confirm. "Enable Futures" only unlocks once this succeeds.
  4. Then check Enable Reading and Enable Futures only. Leave Enable Withdrawals, Enable Spot & Margin Trading, and everything else unchecked.
  5. If Enable Futures is greyed out, activate Futures trading on your Binance account first (Futures tab -> Open Now), then create the key.
  6. Copy the API Key and Secret into the fields above - Binance only shows the Secret once.

Withdrawals stay off no matter what - Binance enforces that at the key level, and TAPE's code only ever reads your trades, never places or closes one. The IP whitelist above means even a leaked key is useless from anywhere but this server.

How do I get an OKX API key? →
  1. Log into OKX → Profile icon → API.
  2. Create V5 API Key -> give it a name (e.g. "TAPE") and set your own passphrase - OKX makes you choose this yourself, unlike Binance/Bybit. Save it, you'll need it below too.
  3. Under IP address whitelist, enter this server's IP (not a URL/domain) - 138.68.87.85. OKX requires at least one IP here.
  4. Permissions: enable only Read. Leave Trade and Withdraw unchecked.
  5. Copy the API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase into the fields above - OKX only shows the Secret once.

Withdrawals stay off no matter what - OKX enforces that at the key level, and TAPE's code only ever reads your trades, never places or closes one. The IP whitelist above means even a leaked key is useless from anywhere but this server.

How do I get a Bybit API key? →
  1. Log into Bybit → Profile icon → API.
  2. Create New Key -> System-generated API Keys -> give it a name (e.g. "TAPE").
  3. Restrict access to specific IPs and enter this server's IP (not a URL/domain) - 138.68.87.85. Bybit requires this before it will let you finish creating the key.
  4. Permissions: look for a read-only toggle/preset for Derivatives/Contracts and enable only that - no order placement, no withdrawals.
  5. Copy the API Key and Secret into the fields above - Bybit only shows the Secret once.

Withdrawals stay off no matter what - Bybit enforces that at the key level, and TAPE's code only ever reads your trades, never places or closes one. The IP whitelist above means even a leaked key is useless from anywhere but this server.

Danger Zone

Permanently deletes your account and every trade, attachment, and backup tied to it. This cannot be undone.

Type DELETE to confirm - there is no way back from this.

Local Backups

Journal & screenshot backups

Bundles the database, journal files, screenshots, and photo attachments into one ZIP. Still local-only — download it to a USB drive or a cloud-synced folder for real protection if this PC fails.
